Golf Courses
The seaside resort town of Hua Hin is one of the golfing world's best kept secrets. There are six courses within 30 minutes drive and less than 1½ hours drive away, there are four more. Slightly further afield, in the Kanchanaburi area, there are five courses.

Tee-To-Green golfing holidays are based on usage of the courses within easy driving distance of Hua Hin. One-day excursions as well as overnight trips to Kanchanaburi where the River Kwai Bridge is located can be arranged by request.

The courses within 30 minutes drive of Hua Hin are:
Black Mountain Golf Club Par 72
Designed by Phil Ryan 7345 yards
Hua Hin`s newest golf course, Black Mountain opened in April 2007 - some 14 months after construction started. Set in a valley less than 15 minutes drive from the centre of town, Black Mountain is visually stunning and quite a stiff walk for those prepared to take to the couurse on foot. There is more than 1,200 yards difference in length between the black and the white tees making the golf an enjoyable test for for the average golfer and the low handicapper.

Dragon Hills Golf & Country Club (120 minutes) Par 72
Designed by Global Golf Design, Inc 6812 yards

About two hours from Hua Hin or Bangkok, Dragon Hills is well worth the time it takes to drive there. Many rate it is as the best layout in the country and certainly the signature holes from 10 through 12 are scenic and challenging. A feature of Dragon Hills is that one only sees the fairway and/or green that one is playing - great for layout designers but a source of many possible penalty strokes for lost balls and unplayable lies.

Imperial Lake View Hotel & Golf Club (25 minutes) Par 72 and 72
Designed by Roger Packard and Ronald Fream 6915 yards
The first club in the Hua Hin area to have 36 holes, Imperial Lake View, with its 72-room hotel, offers the keen golfer an idyllic retreat with a choice of courses and a resort set in tropical gardens. The original 27 holes were designed by Roger Packard, and the fourth nine - course `D` or Links - designed by Ronald Fream adds considerable length. Each of the four 9`s feature Bermuda Tidway fairways and Bermuda Tidwarf greens so there can be no excuses about different putting surfaces, etc.

Kaeng Krachan Country Club (70 minutes) Par 72
Designed by Chird Boonyaratavej 7331 yards

Just over an hour`s drive from Hua Hin, Kaeng Krachan is one of the area`s best kept golfing secrets. Rarely busy, the couirse is long off the back tees and providesa good golfing challenge for all golfers. The fairways are fairly generous , but to miss them off the tee will mean losing at least one stroke. The greens, vastly improved in the last couple of years, are difficult to read so addvice from one`s caddie can save a number of shots. A third nine, designed by Jack Nicklaus, is due to open in the latter half of 2007.

Majestic Creek Country Club (30 minutes) Par 72 and 36
Designed by Dr Sukitti Klangvisai 6982 yards
Majestic Creek, one of the most scenic courses, generally plays long as the luscious fairways do not permit the ball to run far. The two par 5`s at the end of each 9 on Courses A and B are seldom reached in two - even by the pros. Keeping the ball below the pin will help to save strokes as the greens are mostly sloped from the back. The new `C` course is not as pristine in condition as the original 18, but still offers golfers a challenge with several tough holes to score level par.

Palm Hills Golf Resort and Country Club (15 minutes) Par 72
Designed by Max Wexler 6892 yards

Wide fairways and large greens make Palm Hills a very user-friendly. To offset this there is a fair amount of water to cross as lakes used for irrigation have been blended into the undulating layout. While the greens may be large, they can be variable in speed and smoothness making them difficult to read. Due to its close proximity to Hua Hin, Palm Hills is very heavily used and as a consequence..

Royal Hua Hin Golf Course (5 minutes) Par 72
Designed by A.O. Robins 6678 yards
Thailand`s oldest course, opened in 1924, is a natural layout out in wooded land rather than the resort style so popular today. There are no water hazards except for the most wayward shots, but the average golfer will have enough problems keeping out of the trees. The course has been leased for 30 years by Singha Brewing Company which has effected improvements to the course condition as well as refurbishing the clubhouse.

Royal Ratchaburi Golf Club (90 minutes) Par 72
Designed by Artanan Yomchinda 6785 yards

Every golfer has favourite layouts and Royal Ratchaburi is one of ours. The course, always in excellent condition, is marked by the contrast in the layout of each 9. Our signature hole is the 16th where there are two fairways with water on both sides. The left fairway is the more direct route to the green which is protected by bunkers and more water. It`s not a long hole but it can pose a problem with club selection.

Sawang Resort Golf Club (75 minutes) Par 72 and 36
Designed by Isao Katsumata 6959 yards
Set in the Khao Yoi hills just over one hour north of Hua Hin, Sawang Resort weaves its way through heavily wooded countryside. On the original 18, holes 1 and 10 are friendly but thereafter each nine offers the golfer a challenge in reaching greens in regulation. Intensive work on the course has seen both fairways and greens improve in condition. Sawang Resort also has a limited amount of accommodation available on site.

Springfield Village (25 minutes) Par 72 and 36
Designed by Jack Nicklaus; `C` designed by Schmidt and Curley 7063 yards

The original 18-holes - courses `A` and `B` - are credited as being designed by Jack Nicklaus while the third nine - course `C` - has been designed by Schmidt and Curley. The Nicklaus course features the full Nicklaus theme - long par 4`s, big bunkers, plenty of water, most of the trouble to the golfers` right, and an island green. For the middle handicapper, the par 4`s will require regular use of fairway metals. The `C` course, while still immature, is also a testing layout and requires patience in the attempt to match par or play to one`s handicap.
